My name is Tadashi Yoshimasa.
PyConJP 2019, Japan’s largest international Python conference, was held recently in Tokyo.
It’s a paid event, but it’s so popular that the thousands of tickets sell out before you know it.
PyConJP’s 2019 schedule was:
9/14 Development Sprints: Short-term, focused software development events.
9/15 Tutorial Day: An event aimed at beginners.
9/16–17 Conference: This section was focused around lectures.
The Conference section featured presentations on popular techniques and trends both domestic and international. Attending PyConJP is a great way to learn about Python trends throughout Japan, making it quite popular here.
The site below has more details about PyConJP 2019.

My colleagues and I created the Python Engineer Development Co., Ltd. and run the Python 3 Certified Engineer Basic Examination. I also appeared as a speaker since the Python Engineer Development Co., Ltd. is a platinum sponsor of PyConJP, and was a Breakfast Sponsor, meaning we supplied breakfast for attendees. The bento boxes all contained Japanese cuisine. To be honest, I often attend a number of other conferences, but I’d say that PyCon JP has some of the best lunchboxes and catering. They also have teatime at three o’clock, with cakes and Japanese sweets.
If you have the chance, I highly recommend giving PyConJP a try!
This is the Python Engineer Development Co., Ltd. booth.
Many attendees were interested in the Python examination, so it was a very successful exhibit.
We had a drawing at the booth, and passed out special polo shirts to 100 winners. Everyone seemed to like them, and we were all quite happy with the reception.
In my talk, I covered the topics Understanding Python Market Data for Company Consensus Building, and Python 3 Certified Engineer Basic Examination. Happily, the venue’s 300 seats were all full.
Python has seen a sudden spike in adoption Japan, and so I have heard many stories of how Python market data is immensely important for companies trying to make investment decisions.
These days, Python is used in over half of AI, infrastructure, and big data projects. Thus, PyConJP can be a very important event for people looking to become AI engineers, infrastructure engineers, big data analysts, and so on. This year’s PyCon JP was filled with related exhibits and booths, and it has come to represent a truly next-generation technology conference.
However, attending PyConJP requires keeping a watch on information updates.
To be honest, attending isn’t all that difficult, but like many events it’s easy to miss the opening of registration, and thus let the window pass you by, if you don’t know about the registration process.
I recommend following the sources of information below for those wanting to attend the next PyConJP:
